Surge Browser v1.2 is here, and your equity just got real.
Each time you visit a website with Surge, you get a click, a unit of equity — ownership — in User Co-op. Now, you can watch your clicks land in a new in-browser equity ledger we included with Surge 1.2.
The new equity page is a real-time record of your stake in User Co-op. It's not a monthly statement. It's not a number we hand down to you. It's a ledger that updates the moment you navigate to any website, and it sits a couple keystrokes or clicks away whenever you want to see it.
Watch it happen
Open surge://equity in Surge, admire the User Co-op equity you've accumulated, and watch it grow.
Visit a page, and your total clicks tick up and your equity charts redraw. No refresh, no waiting, no "check back later." The most recent day shows up as a marked point on the line, so a single click today gets counted. You can even sit on the equity page and watch your ownership accumulate in the same moment you're building it.
If you want to go granular, you can view your equity down to the click.
That immediacy and granularity is the point. Your equity in User Co-op is a real asset, and you should always be able to see exactly what you hold in exchange for the valuable click-data you contribute to our common enterprise.
Explore any window of time
Your equity isn't a single frozen number. It's a story that unfolds over time, and now you can read it at whatever resolution you like.
Dial in the last seven days to see your recent activity. Pull back to all time for the full picture. Or set any date range you want to see exactly the equity you built in that window. The chart and the totals move with you, so you can ask "what did this month look like?" and get the answer instantly.
This makes the equity page something you can explore. You can take a quick glance at your equity charts, or, if you're really curious, you can inspect down to the click the patterns of your usage.
Bring your whole history
Your equity shouldn't start the day you discovered Surge. You've been browsing the web in another browser, and those clicks are part of your story too.
You can now import your clicks from any browser, anytime, right from the equity page. No setup wizard, no separate trip into settings. Click the link, choose your browser, and watch your clicks flow into your ledger. Nothing to refresh, nothing to reload. They're just there, folded into your equity alongside everything you've done since.
Always within reach
Something you own should be easy to get to. The equity page opens from a keyboard command (⌘U), from the button in the toolbar, from the menus, or simply by typing surge://equity in the URL bar. It's never buried, never more than a few keystrokes or clicks away, because it isn't a settings screen you visit once. It's your equity in User Co-op, and it should be at hand.
Why I love this page
A page like this can only exist within User Co-op. You've gone from being "the product" to being an owner, and the equity page is the proof. Surge 1.2 doesn't just tell you the relationship changed. It shows you.
